Seventy-two more dengue patients were reported in Chittagong in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of cases in the district to 2,108 since January 1.
The information was released in the daily dengue report published by the Chittagong Civil Surgeon's Office on Tuesday.
Of the total patients reported this year, 1,776 were diagnosed at government hospitals and 332 at private hospitals and clinics.
So far, 1,937 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, while 171 remain under treatment.
The district has recorded five dengue deaths this year. No new deaths were reported in the past 24 hours.
Dengue cases rose sharply in Chittagong in August and have remained significant at the beginning of September, according to the health authorities.
