Woman calls 999 over alleged rape on train, one held

A woman was allegedly raped by three men on the Kurigram Express on Monday night. Police rescued the victim after receiving an emergency call to 999 and locating the train at Santahar railway station. The train canteen worker has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The arrested man was identified as Abu Bakkar Siddique, 22, a resident of Abdulpur in Lalpur upazila of Natore. Efforts are underway to arrest the two other suspects, said Anwar Sattar, a police inspector (Media and Public relations) of National Emergency Service 999.
