Bangladesh and Australia discussed various bilateral and multilateral issues including cooperation in trade, investment, energy, labour mobility, and regional and global issues.
These issues were discussed while the Australian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Susan Ryle paid a courtesy call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir at his office on Tuesday.
During the meeting, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir has praised Australia’s continued support in addressing the Rohingya humanitarian crisis and hope to continue working closely with Australia towards a sustainable solution to this prolonged crisis. Bangladesh sought closer cooperation and collaboration between Australian TAFE institutions and her Technical Training Centers (TTCs) as well as in training for Bangladeshi caregivers.
Australian High Commissioner reaffirmed that Australia will continue to support Bangladesh regarding vocational training and health issues. Australia will be always with Bangladesh resolving the Rohingya refugees crisis as well, the High Commissioner added. She also mentioned that Australia and Bangladesh are closely cooperating at the UN and other international forums.
