Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) has launched a dedicated bus service on four routes to facilitate commuting for doctors, nurses and other employees of Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital.
The service was initially launched with three double-decker buses.
DMCH Director Brigadier General Md Asaduzzaman inaugurated the service at the hospital’s Garden Gate on Tuesday afternoon.
At the inauguration ceremony, the hospital director said a large portion of the hospital’s doctors, nurses and other employees are women, but the hospital does not have a dedicated transport system for its staff.
''To make commuting easier and safer for healthcare workers, we took the initiative to launch the bus service at discounted fares through an agreement with BRTC.''
