The Rampal Maitree Super Thermal Power Project in Khulna is playing a key role in ensuring uninterrupted electricity to the national grid through full capacity and technical expertise.

Located in Bagerhat, the plant has demonstrated significant generation capacity, bringing relief to public life. According to the latest data from Power Grid Bangladesh, the plant generated nearly 64.36 crore units of electricity in just 25 days from August 1 to August 25.

The 1,320-megawatt (MW) capacity plant supplied an average of 1,073 MW of electricity daily to the national grid during this period, which is highly significant given current demand.

Earlier in June, the plant produced 82.73 crore units of electricity, equivalent to an average output of 1,149 MW. This sustained production capability directly helps reduce growing pressure on the national grid and establishes the plant as a reliable power source during shortages.

A detailed review of operational activities shows that maintaining continuous production while preserving environmental balance remains the main challenge. Khan Noman Shibly, Deputy Manager of Rampal Power Plant, said they operate strictly according to international standards, prioritizing environmental protection. Persistent generation is helping rebuild consumer trust after long-standing complaints over power supply.

Successful management of the Rampal plant helps resolve current power struggles and signals long-term energy security for the country. Maintaining this output and modernizing maintenance will be crucial to supporting economic activity and improving public life.
