Bangladesh has approved an emergency grant of $1 million (around Tk 123 million) to support people affected by devastating landslides and flash floods in northern Nepal, officials said on Wednesday.
The assistance was approved as Bangladesh seeks to extend support to people affected by the severe natural disasters, reflecting the longstanding friendly and historic ties between Dhaka and Kathmandu.
The funds will be provided from a special allocation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the current fiscal year, following Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s directive.
