Colleges barred from admitting students to Class XI

Several categories of colleges have been barred from admitting students to Class XI in the 2026-27 academic year under the final admission policy issued by the Education Ministry.

Online applications for Class XI admission began on Wednesday and will continue until September 10.

According to the policy published on August 24, colleges without approval or official recognition cannot admit students.

Institutions that have only establishment permission but lack preliminary permission to conduct classes are also prohibited from admitting students.

An approved college cannot admit students to any unauthorised or illegal branch outside its approved main campus.

Admission is also prohibited to any subject, department or group that has not been approved by the education board or the ministry.

The policy warns of strict legal and administrative action against colleges that violate the admission rules.

For private colleges, violations may lead to cancellation of permission to conduct classes and permanent recognition, as well as withdrawal of MPO benefits.

In government colleges, officials or employees involved in irregularities will face action under government service rules.

Students have been advised to verify the list of approved colleges and their codes on the official website before arranging their preference list.
