July Uprising to feature in textbooks from 2027: Milon

The July Uprising, the “mass killings” and key episodes from Sheikh Hasina’s rule will be incorporated into school textbooks from the 2027 academic year, Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon informed Parliament on Tuesday.

Speaking during a question-and-answer session, the minister said the textbooks would present the causes, key events, genocide, sacrifices of martyrs, contributions of women and historical significance of the July Uprising in ways appropriate to students’ age and grade.
