A fire broke out at an Apex footwear showroom inside a six-storey building at Dhanmondi-27 in the capital on Thursday (September 10) morning.
Fire Service and Civil Defence duty officer Khaleda Yasmin confirmed the development to media.
The control room received information about the fire at 10:05 AM. Firefighters from the Mohammadpur station reached the spot within ten minutes at 10:15 AM.
The blaze originated on the second floor of the six-storey building, located two kilometers from the Mohammadpur station.
Initially, two units from the Mohammadpur station began operations to contain the flames. Two additional units later joined the efforts, while several other units were dispatched to the scene.
The cause of the fire and the extent of casualties or financial damages remain unknown.
Fire service officials said full details will be shared once the situation is brought under control.
