Six more people have died from dengue fever in Bangladesh over the past 24 hours, while 1,492 new patients were admitted to hospitals during the same period.
The latest deaths have raised the death toll from the Aedes mosquito-borne disease this year to 139, with 42 fatalities recorded in September alone.
According to a bulletin issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday, 81 of the newly admitted patients were hospitalised in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and 151 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
Outside the two city corporations, 327 patients were admitted to hospitals in the Dhaka Division, 178 were admitted in Barishal, 202 in Chattogram, 284 in Khulna, 80 in Mymensingh, 122 in Rajshahi, 54 in Rangpur, and 13 in Sylhet.�"bdnews24
