The closing and prize-giving ceremony of REACT 2026, a two-day national festival on science, technology, and research organized by the IEEE Southeast University Student Branch, was held on Friday (September 11) at 3:00 PM at the Multipurpose Hall of Southeast University’s permanent campus.
The event was graced by Mr. Habibur Rashid Habib, MP, Hon’ble State Minister for Railways and the Road Transport and Highways Division, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest. Mr.Rezaul Karim, Hon’ble Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Southeast University, attended the programme as the Special Guest.
In his address, the Chief Guest emphasized that technological excellence is indispensable for building a prosperous Bangladesh. Congratulating the winners in various categories, he also encouraged all participants to continue working tirelessly to contribute to the advancement of technology in the country.
In his speech, Special Guest Mr. Rezaul Karim referred to the participants as “young scientists” and encouraged them to continue their efforts toward the technological advancement of Bangladesh. He thanked the IEEE Southeast University Student Branch for organizing such an important and meaningful competition.
REACT 2026 was organized with the aim of bringing students, young innovators, and researchers together on a common platform in the fields of Research, Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, and Technology. The festival provided participants with an opportunity to showcase their knowledge, innovations, and technical skills while creating avenues for future research-based collaboration.
Professor Dr. M. Mofazzal Hossain, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Southeast University, delivered the welcome address. The programme concluded with the closing remarks by Professor Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of Southeast University.
Deans of different schools, heads of departments, faculty members, officials, employees, and students of the university were present at the ceremony.
