Dhaka ranked as the sixth most polluted city in the world on Sunday morning (September 13), with its air quality staying in the "unhealthy" category, according to real-time data from air quality monitoring agency IQAir recorded at 9:03 AM.

Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, topped the global list for worst air quality, with Dhaka registering pollution levels comparable to the leading city.

Jakarta, Indonesia, ranked second, while Kuching, Malaysia, held the third spot following a consistent deterioration in its air quality over recent days.

Under the Air Quality Index (AQI) scale, a reading between 0 and 50 is classified as "good," 51 to 100 is "moderate," and 101 to 150 is deemed "unhealthy for sensitive groups."

An AQI score between 151 and 200 is categorized as "unhealthy," 201 to 300 as "very unhealthy," and scores exceeding 301 indicate "hazardous" air quality conditions.
