Sujon eyes Bangladesh head coach role again

Former Bangladesh cricketer and experienced coach Khaled Mahmud Sujon said that he would like to take charge of the national team again if given the opportunity.
Sujon, who has previously served as Bangladesh’s interim head coach, made the remarks while speaking to reporters recently.
Bangladesh have enjoyed encouraging results under local coaches in recent times, marking a shift from the team’s longstanding reliance on foreign coaching staff.
Sujon said he was pleased to see Bangladeshi coaches receiving greater opportunities.
Currently working as a consultant with the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s Game Development department, the former cricketer said the growing recognition of local coaches was a positive sign for the country’s cricket.
''I’m very happy that nowadays we are seeing people like Ashraful, Talha, Salahuddin and Sohel involved with the Bangladesh team. I think it’s a good start.''
He also highlighted the appointment of Mohammad Salahuddin with the High Performance team and the involvement of Hannan in the junior setup as important steps in developing a stronger domestic coaching structure.
