Govt land grabbers to be identified and evicted: State Minister Monzoor

BARISHAL, Sept 15: State Minister for Housing and Public Works Ahammad Sohel Monzoor, MP, said that the government will prepare a list of people who grabbed government land during the previous regime and recover the occupied land.

He made the remarks while speaking to journalists after visiting the market at Rupatali Housing Estate in Barishal on Tuesday afternoon. 

He said there was no comparison between such land grabbers and the BNP. No incident of government property being grabbed has been reported since the BNP came to power, he said.

The state minister said the amount of land is not increasing, while the demand for housing is rising. So, the government is considering housing projects beyond traditional plots. “We are planning to build multi-storey buildings to create more housing,” he said.
