Worker dies inside Pirojpur septic tank

PIROJPUR, Sept 15: A construction worker died and his helper was injured inhaling toxic gas inside a septic tank at Boldia Village in Nesarabad Upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.  

The deceased Md Monir Sheikh, 42, was the son of Md Abdul Jalil Sheikh of Kolardoania Village in Nazirpur Upazila of the district.

Locals said Monir Sheikh and his assistant Md Quddus, 70, were working inside the tank at Rajabari Village and suddenly got injured. They were rushed to Nesarabad Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctor Asaduzzman declared Monir dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Nesarabad Police Station Mehedi Hasan confirmed the news adding that legal procedures are going on in this incident.
