Govt decides to form anti-corruption committees in all ministries

The meeting began at 4:30 PM and concluded around 6:00 PM, with at least 61 secretaries in attendance.

According to meeting sources, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Secretary presented the proposal to form anti-graft committees within each ministry, which was accepted by the Cabinet Secretary.

The ACC has been asked to submit a formal proposal, following which the Cabinet Division will issue instructions to all ministries and divisions. The ACC has assured full operational support to these committees.

The meeting took place against the backdrop of recent public discourse regarding corruption in public administration, sparked by comments from National Parliament Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed on September 13. 

Several secretaries acknowledged public perception regarding administrative corruption and highlighted the necessity of taking concrete measures.

In addition to anti-corruption measures, the Secretaries' meeting prioritized fast-tracking recruitment process for vacant government posts to create youth employment while maintaining strict transparency. Furthermore, secretaries were directed to oversee the installation of solar panels in government offices to mitigate the ongoing electricity crisis.

Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani stated that the primary objective of the meeting was to streamline internal coordination, enhance administrative efficiency, and directly address priority projects and power management strategies.
