Independent MP for Brahmanbaria-2 Rumin Farhana has described a broom procession held against her in Ashuganj as a normal part of politics.

“Politics is like this. There will be differences of opinion, someone will be declared unwelcome. There will be processions and meetings in politics. Isn’t that what politics is? So all of this is normal,” she said.

She made the remarks while responding to journalists after a reception for meritorious students at the Ashuganj Upazila Parishad auditorium at around 5:15 PM on Friday. The programme was organised by the Ashuganj Abdul Kadir Shah Library.

On September 12, Ashuganj Upazila BNP organised a broom procession protesting remarks Rumin made in Parliament criticising the BNP government. BNP leaders and activists also warned that she would be declared unwelcome in Ashuganj if she did not withdraw her remarks.
