Combined efforts can solve local disputes: MP Subarna

MORRELGANJ, BAGERHAT, Sept 18: Bagerhat-4 Constituency Reserved-Seat Member of Parliament Subarna Sikdar on Thursday called for coordinated action by the administration, elected representatives and relevant agencies to quickly identify and resolve local problems, with public safety, service quality and people’s needs given priority.

Speaking at a meeting on law and order and overall development at the Morrelganj Upazila Parishad conference room, Sikdar said development could not be achieved by any single institution or individual and required cooperation among administrators, public representatives, political leaders and residents.

The meeting reviewed law and order, roads and communications, infrastructure, education, health care, civic services, public hardships and ongoing development projects in Morrelganj.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Habibullah, who chaired the meeting, said the administration was continuing efforts to maintain law and order and accelerate development, but local problem-solving also required cooperation from public representatives, political leaders and residents.
