SINGRA, NATORE, Sept 18: Fruit, forest and medicinal tree saplings were distributed among more than 300 students at Bildahar High School in Singra Upazila of the district on Wednesday as part of an environmental conservation and tree-planting programme.
Singra Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdullah Al Rifat inaugurated the programme and urged each student to plant a sapling.
He also called on students to help prevent drug abuse and child marriage and to focus more on their studies.
Among others, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mithun Kumar Kundu, valiant freedom fighter Madud Hossain, BNP leader Alhaj Naranbi Faruk Tara, head teacher Abdur Rashid, Upazila Swechchhasebak Dal Joint Convener Abdul Khalek Biswas and Singra Gol-e-Afroz Government College Chhatra Dal General Secretary Hasanul Haque Hasan were present.
