Harry Kane has become the fastest player to score 100 goals in Bundesliga history. The Bayern Munich striker reached the milestone during his side’s 7-0 demolition of Union Berlin at the Allianz Arena on Friday night.
Michael Olise scored his first career hat-trick for the club, while Kane netted twice and Jamal Musiala and Ismael Saibari also scored as Bayern thrashed Union Berlin.
Kane reached 100 Bundesliga goals in the 39th minute when he converted a penalty, breaking the previous record held by former Cologne striker Dieter Müller.
Müller had scored 100 Bundesliga goals in 129 appearances, reaching the milestone in September 1977-nearly 16 years before Kane was born.
Kane surpassed Müller’s record in just his 98th Bundesliga appearance, reaching the landmark in 31 fewer matches. That is almost the equivalent of an entire Bundesliga season.
The pace of Kane’s scoring is further highlighted by the list of the fastest players to 100 Bundesliga goals. Bayern legend Gerd Müller reached the mark in 136 matches, while former Borussia Dortmund forward Lothar Emmerich needed 140 and Hamburg great Uwe Seeler took 157 games.
According to Transfermarkt, Kane is the eighth foreign player to score 100 goals in the Bundesliga. The all-time leading foreign scorer in the competition is Robert Lewandowski, who scored 312 goals in 384 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
Kane scored 61 goals in 51 matches last season and has now netted six times in seven games this season. Speaking to Sky Germany after the match, Kane said he was proud to have reached 101 Bundesliga goals and had enjoyed every moment since joining the league.
“It's a great feeling to have 101 goals in the Bundesliga. I've really enjoyed every moment since I came here. When you play with teammates like these, you're always going to get chances to score,” Kane said.
The England captain joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 and has enjoyed a prolific spell in Germany. He reached 100 Bundesliga goals in just over three years and has finished as the league’s top scorer in each of his first three seasons.
Kane’s latest achievement adds to an impressive scoring record since his move to Munich. Last year, he scored his 100th goal for Bayern against Werder Bremen in his 104th appearance for the club. That made him the fastest player in the 21st century to score 100 goals for a club in Europe's top five leagues, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo's record at Real Madrid and Erling Haaland's mark at Manchester City, with both having needed 105 matches.
Kane added his second goal against Union Berlin in the 54th minute, finishing a superb cross from Olise.
He has now scored 152 goals in 154 appearances for Bayern, while also providing 34 assists. That means Kane has directly contributed to 186 goals in 154 games for the German giants.
