DMP transfers Gulshan ADC after DC, OC

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has transferred Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Md Sarwar Hossain of the Gulshan Zone, following the removal of the Gulshan division deputy commissioner (DC) and officer-in-charge (OC).

Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aminul Haque Bappi of the Detective Branch has been appointed to replace him.

The information was disclosed in an office order signed by DMP Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed on Saturday.

The order also reshuffled the responsibilities of four additional deputy commissioners.

According to the order, Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Zahidul Islam of the DMP’s Intelligence and Analysis Division has been transferred to the Mirpur Zone as ADC, while Additional Deputy Commissioner Farzina Nasrin of the Mirpur Division has been transferred to the Pallabi Zonal Team of the Detective-Mirpur Division as ADC.

Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aminul Haque Bappi of the Financial Crime Investigation unit of the DB-Cyber and Special Crime Division has been transferred to the Gulshan Zone as ADC.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Sarwar Hossain of the Gulshan Division has been transferred to the Demra Zonal Team of the Detective-Wari Division as ADC.

Recently, the Awami League, whose activities have been banned, held a procession in Gulshan in the capital. The incident triggered concerns within the police over an alleged intelligence failure.
