Iran has warned that any major new attack by the United States and its allies would trigger sustained retaliation against US bases and interests across the region.
Iran’s military command said on Sunday (September 20) that Tehran had information indicating Washington was preparing to resume military action. It also warned that regional countries supporting any US attack would be considered parties to the conflict.
The warning comes as tensions remain high following months of conflict between the two countries. The United States has also issued a security alert over the possibility of further escalation in the Middle East, including potential flight disruptions and airspace closures.
Iranian officials have separately said Tehran is prepared for a “decisive war” if Washington rejects its conditions for restarting negotiations.
