BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi stated on Monday (September 21) that fuel prices in Bangladesh remain lower than in many other countries amid current global conditions.

Speaking at an event in the capital, Rizvi emphasized that the government is making sincere efforts to resolve the fuel crisis. He noted that despite price adjustments, the government continues to absorb losses while providing subsidies to shield consumers.

He stated that ongoing conflicts in the Middle East have created a global energy crisis, which has also impacted Bangladesh. Despite these challenges, the government is working attentively to mitigate the situation.

Addressing the national landscape, the BNP leader alleged planned attempts to destabilize the country. He warned that terrorist activities are being orchestrated to divert social development and public welfare initiatives.

Rizvi noted that the public and BNP supporters remain aware of these developments. He raised suspicions regarding recent arson incidents across various locations, questioning whether defeated political forces are secretly involved.

He further mentioned that discussions were held during meetings with BNP associate bodies to step up political programs. He criticized certain quarters for mocking public welfare initiatives.

Rizvi invited constructive solution proposals from opposition parties to address the energy crisis, adding that the language directed against the government and BNP during recent long-march programs was unwarranted.
