Pubali Bank joins two Bangladesh Bank refinance schemes

Pubali Bank PLC has signed participation agreements with Bangladesh Bank under two Tk 1,000-crore refinance schemes to support green industries and the information and communication technology (ICT) sector.

The agreements were signed for the Refinance Scheme for Green Factory Building and Green Industry Sector and the Refinance Scheme for Development of the Information and Communication Technology Sector, both managed by Bangladesh Bank’s Sustainable Finance Department.

At a ceremony at Bangladesh Bank headquarters, Sustainable Finance Department Director A.K.M. Nurunnabi and Pubali Bank Managing Director Mohammad Ali signed the agreements on behalf of their respective institutions.

The green finance scheme will support green factory buildings, environmentally friendly industries and sustainable production practices.

The ICT scheme will provide financing support for technology-based businesses and initiatives, including software development, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fintech, cloud computing, e-commerce, robotics and semiconductors.
