Curb Crime Committed Under the Guise of Begging

Dear Sir,

At present, serious crimes ranging from theft, robbery and snatching to kidnapping and loss of life have become a growing concern in society. Among these, allegations of crimes being committed under the guise of begging have raised renewed public concern. A section of criminal groups allegedly roam around neighbourhoods and residential areas during the daytime under the pretext of begging while carefully surveying houses and their surroundings. Later, taking advantage of suitable opportunities, they reportedly commit crimes such as theft, robbery, kidnapping and even causing loss of life at night or at other convenient times. This poses a serious threat to public safety.

In such circumstances, awareness alone is not enough. Law enforcement agencies and the local administration must strengthen monitoring, investigate allegations promptly and bring proven offenders under the law. 

I therefore urge the relevant authorities to take necessary measures to prevent crimes committed under such disguises and ensure public safety.
