People’s unity helps combat social crises: Pirojpur DC

PIROJPUR, Sept 21: People’s united strength is more powerful than administrative power in combating social crises. 

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) said this while addressing a meeting on Monday afternoon in his conference room in the town with leaders of voluntary organisations present.

The administration cannot work without people’s support, and people and administration together can easily overcome any challenge, he added.

The DC declared a three-month special drive from October to December against dengue in the district. A three-month working calendar has been prepared to follow during the action months.

Abuse of drugs, online gambling, eve teasing, early marriage and addiction to social media are our burning issues to combat at any cost. We all believe that within the three months we will be able to achieve significant results if you all work together with the spirit of patriotism, he further said.

Additional DC (General) Mahmudul Hasan Mamun, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Iftkherul Islam Shamim and chiefs of more than 80 social and voluntary organisations took part in the meeting.
