Frequent Power Cuts Disrupt Rural Life

I would like to draw attention to the severe load-shedding currently affecting rural areas of Bangladesh. Frequent power cuts during both the day and night have made life difficult for residents, particularly amid the intense heat. Children, elderly people and patients are suffering the most. The situation becomes especially severe at night, when prolonged power outages leave many rural areas in darkness.

The shortage is also disrupting students’ studies and affecting businesses, small industries and their regular activities. Hospitals are facing difficulties in providing normal medical services due to inadequate electricity. Farmers and farm owners are also suffering losses as many farms cannot operate properly without a reliable power supply.

In this situation, I urge the relevant authorities to take immediate and effective measures to reduce load-shedding. Considering the growing hardship faced by rural people, ensuring a stable and uninterrupted electricity supply should be treated as a priority.
