Bangladesh, US sign nuclear cooperation deal on peaceful uses of atomic energy

Bangladesh and the United States have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.

The agreement was signed in New York on Friday (September 25), on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, following high-level bilateral discussions. 

Rehan Asad, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Science and Technology, signed the MoU on behalf of Bangladesh, while US Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment Jacob Helberg signed for Washington, according to a statement issued by the BNP Media Cell on Saturday.
