Bangladesh, Brazil eye stronger trade, investment ties

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir has met Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The meeting was held on Friday afternoon local time, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a range of issues of mutual interest and expressed satisfaction over the growing momentum in Bangladesh-Brazil relations.

They exchanged views on further strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and investment, economic engagement and South-South cooperation.

The two sides also stressed the importance of exchanging high-level visits and discussed ways to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in new and emerging areas.

They also explored avenues for deepening people-to-people and institutional ties between Bangladesh and Brazil.
