A fresh Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign targeting around 34 lakh children who missed previous vaccination efforts began across Bangladesh on Saturday (September 26).
The month-long campaign, which will continue until October 31, aims to vaccinate children aged six months to below five years, with health workers conducting household visits and community-level activities to identify those who remain unvaccinated.
The campaign comes amid a continuing measles outbreak in the country. The government has arranged around 58 lakh MR vaccine doses for the drive, including doses received with support from UNICEF. The health authorities have urged parents and guardians to ensure eligible children receive the vaccine.
