Dengue claims two more lives, 955 new patients hospitalised

Two more people have died of dengue in the past 24 hours, while 955 new patients have been hospitalised across the country, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The latest figures were released in the DGHS's regular dengue report on Friday.

With the latest deaths, the number of dengue fatalities in Bangladesh has reached 211 this year.

According to the DGHS, one person died in Dhaka North City Corporation and another in Dhaka South City Corporation during the 24-hour period.

Of the 955 newly hospitalised patients, the highest number was recorded in Chattogram division, with 246 cases.

Dhaka division recorded 241 new admissions, followed by Dhaka South City Corporation with 133, Khulna division 130, Dhaka North City Corporation 76, Barishal division 44, Rangpur division 44, Mymensingh division 37 and Sylhet division four.

From January 1 to September 25, a total of 211 people have died of dengue across the country.

Of them, 102 died in Dhaka division, including the two city corporations. Khulna division recorded 37 deaths, Chattogram 21, Mymensingh 20, Barishal 16, Rajshahi 10, Rangpur four and Sylhet one.
