RMG exports to UK near $1bn in first two months of FY27

Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) exports to the United Kingdom reached $915.63 million in the first two months of fiscal year 2026-27, marking a 3.74 percent year-on-year increase.

According to Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) data compiled by Bangladesh Apparel Voice, exports stood at $882.62 million during July-August of FY2025-26.

The growth was driven mainly by a 10.53 percent rise in exports in August, which offset a 2.44 percent decline in July.

The average monthly export earnings during the first two months of FY2026-27 stood at $457.82 million, compared with the monthly average of $365.71 million recorded throughout FY2025-26.

Mohiuddin Rubel, founder and CEO of Bangladesh Apparel Voice, said the strong recovery in August helped bring apparel exports to the UK market back into positive territory after a weak start to the fiscal year.
