BD table tennis team stranded at Thailand airport for two days

Five members of the Bangladesh national table tennis team and their coach have been stranded at an airport in Thailand for two days due to sudden flooding.

They were travelling to Japan to participate in the Asian Games.

The stranded team members are Ramhimlion Bom, Imrul Kayes Emon, Sonam Sultana Soma, Nowrin Sultana Mahi and Samanta Hossain Tushi, along with team coach and federation member Md Mohsinul Alam Jhinu.

Bangladesh delegation manager and federation general secretary Md Saidul Haque Sadi and men's team top player Muhtasin Ahmed Hridoy were able to return home as they had tickets on different flights.

According to sources, mainly passengers travelling with Thai Airways have been stranded due to the situation. The airline and airport authorities are struggling to provide necessary assistance to passengers affected by the natural disaster.

As a result, members of the Bangladesh team have been forced to wait at the airport amid uncertainty. The Bangladesh Olympic Association is trying to arrange alternative flights to bring the stranded players back home.
