Greece make history with first-ever win over Germany

Greece made history by beating four-time world champions Germany 1-0 in the Nations League, securing their first victory over the Germans in 11 meetings since the rivalry began in 1960.

Arsenal winger Christos Tzolis scored the only goal of the match. Tzolis cut inside from the right after receiving the ball from Dimitris Kourbelis, beat Germany midfielder Felix Nmecha and fired a low shot that deflected off Joshua Kimmich before finding the net.

Despite dominating possession, shots on target and passing throughout the match, Germany failed to score. Greece had just one shot on target-and it resulted in the winning goal.

The defeat also marked a disappointing return home for Jurgen Klopp. The German coach has now gone without a win in his first two matches in charge. Germany had drawn 1-1 with the Netherlands in their previous game after taking the lead.

With two wins from two matches, Greece sit top of Group A2 with six points. The Netherlands are second with four points, while Germany have one point in third place after two games. The Dutch beat Serbia 1-0 in their other match.
