StanChart Bangladesh wins 2 ESG awards for health equity, job creation

 
Standard Chartered Bangladesh has won two major honours�"the Health Equity and Inclusion Award and the Job Creation Award�"at the ESGBusiness Awards 2026, recognising the bank’s contributions to health equity, social inclusion and job creation in Bangladesh.
The awards were announced at the ESGBusiness Awards 2026 programme, held in Singapore on September 17, 2026, to honour businesses that demonstrate outstanding commitment to and achievement in environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices across Asia, including the Middle East, Central Asia, East Asia, South Asia and Southeast Asia, says a press release. 
The ‘Health Equity and Inclusion Award, Bangladesh’ recognises Standard Chartered’s long-standing commitment to improving access to essential healthcare for some of the most hard-to-reach communities and translating its corporate commitment into tangible, life-enhancing outcomes. Through one of its flagship healthcare initiatives, the bank has supported programmes across 100 unions in six underserved and distinct geographies�"Barind, Beel, Char, Coastal, Hill Tract and Haor�"directly benefiting more than 30,000 adolescents and young women and indirectly reaching a further 100,000 individuals.
The ‘Job Creation Award, Bangladesh’ acknowledges the bank’s efforts to create sustainable economic opportunities, build workforce capacity and promote financial and social inclusion, particularly among vulnerable communities, youth and women. Some of the bank’s initiatives are already delivering significant impact on the ground, including ‘Giving Wings to Dreams for Youth Empowerment’ with UCEP, ‘Empowering the Future’ with BRAC, and Generation Unlimited’s (GenU) Passport to Earning (P2E) with UNICEF. Collectively, these initiatives equip young people with market-relevant skills, expand access to decent work and support inclusive economic growth across Bangladesh.
