Walton Plaza, the country’s one of the largest electronics product sales and service network, has launched a new initiative to help locate missing people more quickly.
In collaboration with missing-person alert platform MUN Alert, Walton Plaza has launched the ‘Missing Persons Broadcast’ initiative.
Under the initiative, photos and essential information of verified missing persons will be regularly displayed on TV screens at more than 700 Walton Plaza outlets across the country.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Walton Plaza and MUN Alert at Walton Corporate Office in the capital on Monday, says a press release.
Mohammad Rayhan, Managing Director of Walton Plaza, and Sadat Rahman, President of Zero Missing Foundation, the founding organisation of MUN Alert, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.
Among others, Zoheb Ahmed, Chief Marketing Officer of Walton; Masud Parvez, Chief Executive Officer of creative partner Pop5; and officials from the organisations concerned were present at the signing ceremony.
Speaking at the event, Walton Plaza Managing Director Mohammad Rayhan said, “Walton Plaza has not confined its activities to product sales and services; rather, it actively participates in various social and humanitarian initiatives for the welfare of the people. As part of that commitment, we have joined hands with MUN Alert to help disseminate information about missing persons quickly and extensively among the public.”
He said that under the initiative, people will be able to visit their nearest Walton Plaza outlet to view the latest information on missing persons. When necessary, they will also be able to report a missing person or follow up on an existing report through MUN Alert’s helpline 13219 and web portal.
