
Textile Focus, a specialized industry magazine covering Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector, celebrated its 10th anniversary and formally launched its new platform, Sustainable Business Connect (SBC), at a ceremony held at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden on Tuesday, says a press release.
Chief Guest Zakaria Taher, MP, congratulated Textile Focus on completing 10 years and appreciated the dedication and vision of its team. He also expressed his hope that Sustainable Business Connect would contribute to sustainable business development in the industry.
Minister for Housing and Public Works, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Zakaria Taher, MP, attended the event as Chief Guest. Among the special guests were Mahmud Hasan Khan, President of BGMEA; Mohammad Hatem, President of BKMEA; Abdullah Al Mamun, Spokesperson of BTMA; Fazlee Shamim Ehsan, President of Bangladesh Employers’ Federation; BGMEA Directors Shah Rayeed Chowdhury and Nafis-Ud-Doula; Md. Shahriar, President of BPAMEA; Abrar Hossain Sayem, President of BAYLA; Md. Abdul Hamid, President of BGBA; and Engr. Md Enayet Hossain, President of ITET.
During the programme, Textile Focus Editor Mohammad Ashraful Islam (Riyadh) presented a documentary highlighting the publication’s 10-year journey and thanked stakeholders across the textile and apparel industry for their continued support.
Over the past decade, Textile Focus has worked to establish itself as a credible platform for Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industry by connecting stakeholders, highlighting innovation and documenting key developments shaping the sector.
The industry itself has undergone significant transformation amid global disruptions, technological changes, sustainability requirements, evolving consumer expectations and intensifying competition.
The event also marked the formal launch of Sustainable Business Connect (SBC). Prof. Dr. Engr. Md. Humaun Kabir, Chairman of Sustainable Business Connect, outlined the vision of the new platform. He said SBC aims to bring sustainability and business together by connecting people, ideas, technology, finance and opportunities to help build a more competitive and resilient textile and apparel industry in Bangladesh.
BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan and BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem extended their congratulations to Textile Focus and expressed their expectations that SBC would contribute to sustainable development in the sector.
BTMA Spokesperson Abdullah Al Mamun also wished Textile Focus continued success.
The event brought together more than 500 industry representatives, including association leaders, factory owners, brand representatives, academics, mid- and senior-level professionals, traders and suppliers.
