Seven passengers of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw were killed when a passenger bus collided with their vehicle at Gandrapa in the Akua Bypass area of Mymensingh city on Friday (October 2).
Kotwali Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Shibirul Islam confirmed the tragic incident.
Police and local sources stated that a Dhaka-bound 'Rajib Paribahan' bus from Jamalpur lost control around 1:30 PM and ran over a moving CNG-run auto-rickshaw. Six passengers died on the spot, while another succumbed shortly after.
Locals and police rushed to the scene to conduct rescue operations following the crash. The accident temporarily disrupted traffic movement along the bypass road.
Police could not immediately identify the deceased victims. Authorities are currently working to identify the bodies and initiate legal proceedings regarding the fatal collision.
