
Bangladesh received $8.798 billion in remittances from July 1 to October 3 of the current 2026-27 fiscal year, marking a 15.1 per cent increase from the $7.643 billion received during the same period last year.
According to the latest Bangladesh Bank data, expatriate Bangladeshis sent $206 million in remittances from October 1 to 3 this year, compared with $57 million during the same period last year.
The rise in remittances sent by Bangladeshi migrant workers during the first few months of the current fiscal year has contributed to the significant growth in remittance inflows.
According to Bangladesh Bank data, the country’s gross foreign exchange reserves stood at $36.145 billion as of September 29.
Earlier, total reserves stood at $36.309 billion on September 20. Under the IMF’s BPM6 calculation method, the reserves stood at $31.453 billion at the time.
According to the central bank’s latest report, Bangladesh received $1.877 billion in remittances in the first 20 days of September. Expatriate Bangladeshis sent $130 million in just three days from September 17 to 19.
In the first 19 days of September last year, the country received $1.869 billion in remittances.
