The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has reported that 16 more people died of dengue and measles symptoms across the country in the 24 hours from 8am Monday to 8am Tuesday.
During the same period, 1,393 people were newly diagnosed with suspected or confirmed measles. In addition, 1,996 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country.
According to the DGHS dengue-related release on Tuesday, 10 people died of dengue in the past 24 hours. Of the deceased, three were reported in Khulna division, two each in Barishal division and DNCC while one each was from DSCC, Dhaka and Rajshahi division. The number of dengue deaths this year has now reached 281.
A total of 1,996 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of dengue cases recorded this year to 90,356.
Dhaka division recorded the highest number of new cases, with 480, followed by Khulna division with 302.
So far this year, 84,299 dengue patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals while 1,964 in last 24 hour.
According to the DGHS measles-related release, six were died with measles symptoms in the past 24 hours. From March 15 to October 6, a total of 1,134 people have died with measles and it like symptoms.
