Strengthen Law and Order

Letter To the Editor
Dear Sir,

A strong and effective administrative structure is essential to running a country in an orderly manner. In Bangladesh, however, law and order remain a concern as theft, robbery, murder, rape and kidnapping continue to be reported. Recent police statistics and reports indicate that different forms of crime are occurring across the country.

Women and children are among the victims of sexual violence. Robbery and theft are also taking place, sometimes in broad daylight and even in busy commercial areas. Such incidents create fear among citizens and undermine their sense of security. If this situation continues, public confidence in law enforcement and the administration may decline. People may even become tempted to take the law into their own hands rather than rely on the legal process.

Therefore, the authorities should strengthen law enforcement, improve monitoring, ensure prompt investigations and take timely legal action against offenders. These measures are essential to preventing crime, ensuring public safety and restoring public confidence.
