Sports and lifestyle brand Lotto has completed 15 years of operations in Bangladesh and launched a new modern manufacturing facility in Kapasia, Gazipur, as part of its plans to expand production capacity and strengthen its presence in the local and international markets.

To mark the milestone, Lotto Bangladesh recently organised a media get-together at Gulshan Club in Dhaka, attended by media representatives, business partners and senior officials of the company. The event highlighted the brand's 15-year journey, achievements and future plans in Bangladesh.

Lotto Bangladesh currently has 247 outlets across the country, including 137 flagship outlets and 110 franchise outlets. The company said it has earned the trust of more than 10 million customers during its operations in Bangladesh and developed the extensive retail network to deliver its products from urban centres to different parts of the country.

The company said it has been focusing on innovation, comfort and functionality in developing footwear and apparel products, using modern technologies to meet the needs of customers in everyday use, sports and active lifestyles.

Its technologies include Adapto Memory Foam (AMF), which provides cushioning and comfort by adapting to the shape of the foot; EasyFit Technology, which makes footwear easier and more comfortable to wear; and Boost Outsole Technology, designed to provide improved cushioning, flexibility and support during running and movement.

According to Lotto Bangladesh, modern consumers seek an integrated experience combining design, technology, comfort and reliability rather than products alone. The company said it would continue investing in new technologies and product development to meet these expectations.

The new factory in Kapasia is part of Lotto Bangladesh's plans to enhance production capacity, quality, efficiency and technology-driven industrialisation. The facility combines modern infrastructure, skilled manpower and advanced production systems to manufacture sports and leather footwear using TPR, EVA, PU and PVC materials.

The company expects the new facility to increase its capacity to produce high-quality footwear and apparel for the domestic market while strengthening Bangladesh's manufacturing capabilities for international markets.

Lotto Bangladesh said Bangladesh has strong potential to become a manufacturing hub for global brands because of its skilled and hardworking workforce, competitive production system and ability to maintain international standards. Increased operations and investment by international brands could create new export opportunities for global brands from Bangladesh, while the new manufacturing activities are expected to contribute to local employment, skills development and sustainable industrial growth.

As part of its 15th anniversary celebrations, Lotto Bangladesh is also introducing new products, including a special Puja Collection and the upcoming Winter Collection. The collections feature a range of footwear, apparel and lifestyle products combining contemporary designs, comfort and practicality. The seasonal collections have been designed to meet the needs of customers during festivals, everyday activities, travel and changing weather conditions, the company said.

Alongside business expansion, Lotto Bangladesh plans to launch an Entrepreneur Development Program to support local entrepreneurs. Under the programme, promising young people, aspiring businesspeople and existing entrepreneurs from different upazilas will be identified and supported in building sustainable and professional businesses.

Selected entrepreneurs will receive business guidance, operational knowledge and logistical support, while potential financial assistance will also be available through partner banks and financial institutions.

According to Lotto Bangladesh's plan, the programme aims to develop entrepreneurs not merely as owners of individual stores but as businesspeople capable of managing organised business networks. Successful entrepreneurs are expected to develop the capacity to build networks of up to 20 stores over the next 10 years.

The company plans to involve enterprising young people from every upazila under the programme. Lotto Bangladesh said the initiative is aimed not only at expanding its retail network but also at creating local entrepreneurs, generating employment, developing skills and contributing to the country's socioeconomic development.

Lotto Bangladesh's Managing Director said completing 15 years in Bangladesh was a matter of great pride and joy for the company.

“What started with one customer has now reached more than 10 million satisfied customers through 247 outlets. The trust and confidence of our customers have been the main strength behind this long journey,” he said.

He said the company's future goal was not limited to developing innovative and technology-driven products or increasing the number of outlets, but also to opening new opportunities for local entrepreneurs.

“We want our achievements to contribute to developing a group of skilled, internationally competitive entrepreneurs who can establish Bangladesh's own brands on the global stage,” he said.

The managing director also said one of Bangladesh's major strengths was its large population of hardworking and resilient young people. With proper guidance, knowledge and opportunities, they could achieve success, create new employment and contribute to strengthening the country's economy, he added.

Lotto Bangladesh said it plans to further expand its retail network, introduce new technology-driven products and collections, improve customer experience and develop new business partnerships to contribute to the growth of the country's sports and lifestyle sector.

Building on its 15 years of achievements, the company said its next goal is to develop a comprehensive business ecosystem by integrating manufacturing, technology, retail, customer service and entrepreneur development.
