Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 528 people and filed 53 cases during regular anti-crime drives in the capital over the past 24 hours.
DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Md Aktar Hossain disclosed the information on Thursday (October 8).
Of the arrested, 33 were from Ramna, 67 Lalbagh, 75 Wari, 53 Motijheel, 73 Tejgaon, 102 Mirpur, 52 Gulshan, 63 Uttara, nine DB and one CTTC.
Police recovered 3kg 590g of cannabis, 218 yaba pills, 2.6g of heroin, two knives, a bus, nine mobile phones, counterfeit revenue and non-judicial stamps, and Tk 156,032 in cash.
They also seized adulterated medicine and cosmetics, including syrups, capsules, face washes, shampoos, white powder and manufacturing equipment.
DMP said the arrests and recoveries were made during drives in different areas of the capital. Legal proceedings are underway.
