RU probe body recommends suspending 4 students over journalist attack

A probe committee at Rajshahi University has recommended the temporary suspension of four students and a warning for three others over an attack on journalists in front of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hall.

The committee submitted its report to the vice-chancellor at the university’s administration building on Friday afternoon.

The four students recommended for temporary suspension are Ahsan Habib, Bishal Chakraborty, Hasibul Hasan and Ariful Islam.

The committee also recommended further investigation into four students and warnings for three others.

However, campus journalists expressed dissatisfaction with the report.

The university administration formed a five-member committee to identify those involved in the attack on journalists in front of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hall on October 4.

University Proctor Mahbubur Rahman confirmed that the committee had recommended the temporary suspension of four students and warnings for three others.
