Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 79 people, including two children, during a daylong drive in crime-prone areas under its Tejgaon division on Friday (October 9).
DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Md Akter Hossain confirmed the arrests on Saturday (October 10).
According to DMP sources, Tejgaon and Mohammadpur police stations accounted for the highest number of arrests, with 22 people each. Another 16 were arrested in Adabor, nine in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, seven in Hatirjheel and three in Tejgaon Industrial Area.
The arrestees have already been sent to court in connection with the relevant cases.
