Amitabh Bachchan, Apu Biswas share birthday today

Amitabh Bachchan turns 84 today. Born in Allahabad in 1942 to poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and social activist Teji Bachchan, his original surname was Srivastava. After missing out on an All India Radio audition, he began his cinematic journey in 1969 with voice narration in Mrinal Sen's Bhuvan Shome and an acting debut in Saat Hindustani.

Across a career spanning over 200 films—including timeless classics like Sholay, Deewaar, and Don—he has earned a record four National Film Awards for Best Actor, 16 Filmfare Awards, and prestigious state honours including the Padma Vibhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Award. On Sunday morning, he shared a message on X, writing, "Morning has broken... Here I am, right beside you."

Meanwhile, Dhallywood star Apu Biswas, whose birth name is Abonti Biswas, is celebrating her birthday today. Born in Bogura in 1989, she learned dance in her childhood and made her silver screen debut in Amjad Hossain's Kal Shokale in 2005.

She achieved widespread acclaim with F. I. Manik's blockbuster Koti Takar Kabin in 2006, starring alongside Shakib Khan in numerous commercial hits. Apu commenced her celebrations at midnight alongside her son, Abram Khan Joy, cutting a cake inscribed with "Happy Birthday Mom. I Love You." The actress is currently more occupied with her family and personal business ventures than acting.
