PM to attend Gram Police grand rally on Nov 7

The government has scheduled to host a grand rally of around 50,000 Gram Police members at the former trade fair ground in the capital on November 7, with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman attending as the chief guest. 

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) State Minister Mir Shahe Alam confirmed the decision on Tuesday (October 13) during a preparatory meeting at the Secretariat.

While speaking to reporters, the state minister disclosed that this is the first time in the country’s history that government is officially hosting a grand gathering for Gram Police personnel serving at grassroots level. 

He further noted that the PM expressed a keen interest in directly replying to the concerns and demands of the Gram Police forces, who play a vital role in assisting local police forces regarding establishing the law and order.

The grand rally will take place at 11:30 AM on November 7 at the former trade fair ground in Agargaon. Home Minister Salauddin Ahmed will attend as a special guest, while Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan will preside over the event.
