Dear Sir,
Durga Puja is one of the main religious festivals of the Bengali Hindu community and a vibrant symbol of our culture, tradition and communal harmony. With the arrival of autumn, the festival brings joy and draws large crowds to puja mandaps across the country. This year, the celebration will extend to six days after many years, making adequate security measures more important than ever.
The authorities should install CCTV cameras, deploy sufficient volunteers and set up checkposts at mandap entrances and exits while keeping access routes clear. Special attention must be given to the safety of women, children and elderly visitors. Firefighting equipment and emergency medical services should remain ready, and suspicious activities must be reported promptly to law enforcement agencies.
Moreover, environmental protection during idol immersion deserves attention. Reducing plastic use and harmful materials is essential. I urge the government and all concerned authorities to ensure a safe, peaceful and harmonious celebration.
