Indian television personality, model and influencer Akanksha Choudhary has accused the organisers of a Navratri event in Pune of serious mismanagement and failing to ensure her safety, claiming she was forced into a car against her will and taken to the venue.
Akanksha described the incident as a kidnapping-like experience and said she would take legal action against those involved.
She alleged that the event arrangements were extremely poor and that three members of the organising team, all reportedly aged 18, had been communicating with her. Despite the event being scheduled to end at around 10:30 PM she said no vehicle had been arranged for her until then.
According to Akanksha, the organisers had no plans to transport her to the venue unless she specifically requested someone to be sent. She said the situation became more uncomfortable after she arrived at Pedkar Grounds.
Akanksha claimed she was forced into a car and taken to the venue against her wishes. The vehicle was then stopped in front of the audience. She refused to enter the venue without her team, saying she felt unsafe. However, she alleged that the people accompanying her dismissed her concerns and laughed at her.
Expressing her anger over the incident, she said, “They forcibly put me in a car and dropped me at the ground. The car was stopped in front of the audience. I was shouting that my team was not with me, so I could not go inside. I did not feel safe. But these boys were laughing and not listening to me. What terrible management! They are thieves. They have taken everyone's fees and used people for their own purposes.”
Describing the experience as similar to being kidnapped, Akanksha said the car stopped only after she slapped the men accompanying her.
“I was practically kidnapped. When I slapped them, they stopped the car. I will file cases against all of them and spare no one,” she said.
In addition to alleging mismanagement and non-payment of fees, Akanksha also accused the organisers of using her photographs for promotional purposes.
