The main events marking the 136th death anniversary of Baul emperor Fakir Lalon Shah concluded at his shrine in Chheuriya, Kushtia, on Monday.
The three-day traditional rural fair ended on October 19. The main gathering of devotees concluded on Sunday afternoon with the customary Purna Seba ritual.
Following the end of the spiritual gathering, thousands of Lalon followers and devotees from home and abroad began leaving the shrine with heavy hearts and tearful eyes.
According to Lalon's traditional rituals, Adhibas was held on the evening of the first day of Kartik, followed by Balya Seba on the morning of the second day and Purna Seba at noon.
Many devotees began leaving the shrine on Sunday afternoon, while others departed on Monday morning after completing their rituals and paying tribute to their spiritual guru.
Despite the sadness of parting, the devotees carried with them the familiar longing for spiritual fulfilment and the hope of returning to the shrine for the next Dol festival.
